With fall approaching fast, the feel of a cooler breeze upon your face and pumpkins calling from a distance, even we parents begin to long for childhood days. Autumn is such a magical time of year, leaving many of us to wonder should we break out those adult Halloween costumes and join in on the fun? The answer is yes!

For a few quick tips on costume woes to idea blahs, check out these tips for a Halloween sure to send you back to your younger days.

WALK LIKE A MAN

You’ll be out of excuses this year when your child asks you to tag along in full Halloween gear. This costume idea takes only seconds to create. Raid your husband’s closet or your dad’s closet and mimic one of your male relatives. Their clothes make for great and humorous adult Halloween costumes! Using one of his outfits as a costume, take black eyeliner and mock his five o’clock shadow. You may need a pillow (or two!) to keep those clothes fitting where they should . . . so borrow one of those belts too.

LIONS, TIGERS, BEARS . . .OH MY!

To create almost any animal costume, just whip out your makeup bag. Dogs, Cats, Mice . . . how do so many animals fit into such a small bag?

ACCESSORIZE

Don’t feel like going all out for your own look? Make easy adult Halloween costumes by being a part of your child’s! Got a trick-or-treating puppy this year? Buy two small strips of double-sided Velcro and a pretty ribbon. Place one strip on the back of your ribbon and one in the middle of your child’s back as a “leash”. Dad’s got a little princess? A frog costume would be perfect! No need for a kiss . . . this will instantly make you a prince in her book!

Fall is such a magical time of year; don’t miss out on the family bonding of the season. Besides, if all else fails . . . we can simply don our sweats and frazzled hair as our adult Halloween costumes . . . “It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s Exhausted Mommy!” This way we can still cash in on the children’s trick -or- treating efforts. That sounds like a plan to me. Hey, does anybody know how many Weight Watcher’s points are in 2 dozen Hershey bars?

Have a happy Halloween and a great fall!
